MAGIC Morton playmaker Arron Lyall says he's enjoying his football as he looks to make the most of being deployed in a deeper role by Dougie Imrie.
The diminutive midfielder has swapped from his usual no.10 role to move further back, playing alongside either Cameron Blues or Iain Wilson in recent weeks and he's loving being in the thick of it in the Cappielow engine room.
But he says being given the confidence to go and play by Ton boss Dougie Imrie as well as in-game help from the Greenock side's more experienced players has helped him kick onto a new level in his first few months at Cappielow.
He told the Tele: "I'm just enjoying playing football really. I had an honest chat with the gaffer before I came to the club.
"He told me that he was going to put all of his confidence in me and that it was up to me to go and get myself in the team every week.
"I feel like I've done that and I've been playing well. He's shown his full confidence in me too, all I can do is keep on making the most of the opportunity he's giving me.
"It helps to have that confidence put in you, it's also great to have experienced bodies around me helping me adapt to the role.
"More recently it's been Jack Baird and Kirk Broadfoot who've helped me. I've also had the likes of Cameron Blues, Iain Wilson and Grant Gillespie next to me too who've been a great help.
"I try to get myself involved as much as possible - I try to get up to win the ball, take it into places and move it on.
"That's what you need to do as a holding midfielder, keep the game ticking over and then feeding it into an attacker who can get into a position where they can hopefully go and make things happen."
The midfielder says his side go into a tough run of games in a good place after recording three clean sheets on the bounce.
Ton face a run of three away games in their next four games and Lyall hopes that his side can begin to kill games off with the chances that they're creating.
He added: "We're three games unbeaten with three clean sheets - we're in a good place heading into the next few games.
"It's a good place to build from, but we need to score more when we're going forward I'd say.
"If there was anything we could improve on, it'd be killing games off quicker in my opinion. But we can't complain with the three clean sheets.
"Killing games off will come from boys getting used to each other, one it all clicks it'll be good. We had quite a depleted squad at the weekend, but we dug deep to get a good point."
