DEFLATED Morton boss Dougie Imrie says that side's 3-0 defeat to Hamilton capped off a difficult few weeks for the club as he dropped a Cappielow environment bombshell.

The Ton boss says that the last few weeks, that have seen his no.2 Andy Millen mysteriously placed on suspension and miss the last three games, as well as a mounting injury crisis are beginning to take their toll and he admits it's been a really difficult time as he looks to navigate a congested fixture list on his own.

And he says that the environment surrounding his team at present isn't great - as he admits it's impossible to do things on his own.

Imrie has been at full stretch over the last three matchdays and has been seen taking his side's warm-ups and other pre-match duties in the previously unexplained absence of usual custodian, Millen, who currently lies at the centre of an internal investigation and he says it's not been ideal preparations in the slightest.

He told the Tele: "The last few weeks haven't been easy at all. In fact they've been quite difficult.

"So we have to try and keep moving but it's not a great environment or situation to be involved in at the moment.

"It's been really difficult. You can't do everything on your own - it's impossible.

"But i've had to do it and just crack on. I've got a group of players here that I really enjoy working with.

"The last few weeks haven't been ideal, let's put it that way."

Ton have a quick turnaround as they look to bounce back from the disappointing defeat to John Rankin's Hamilton side.

But Imrie admits he'll have plenty of food for thought heading into the game after watching an unexpected capitulation in Lanarkshire.

He added: "It's great that we've got a game on Tuesday night it gives us a chance to try and put things right, straight away.

"The players will be off on Sunday and back in on Monday for a bit of recovery and then to prepare for the game on Tuesday night against Queen's Park.

"It'll be another tough game - they always are against Queen's Park so we'll need to be at our best if we're looking to get anything out of the contest. But I want to see a reaction.

"We've been good at home, i'm disappointed for the support who turned up in great voice and numbers to support the team and they then see a seven minute period where we capitulated.

"I didn't see that coming - so it'll give me food for thought that's for sure. There's one or two who are thinking they've done alright and are coasting. You don't do that for ten games you do it for 36."

Imrie was disappointed to see his side revert back to playing it long when under pressure from their hosts.

And he says it could've been a far different game had his team taken their chances.

"It's easy to play football at three-nil down," He added. "I keep on demanding the boys to pass the ball. In spells I feel like we did that.

"But too many were just looking to get the ball as far away as possible. All you do then is keep the ball coming at you, you'll not be successful doing that.

"We then tried to change it in-game, we had an unbelievable chance through Owen Moffat who's forced an unbelievable save from Charlie Albinson.

"Again I've been harping on all season about how good we've been defensively and then we go and concede twice from set-plays, which is really disappointing."
