Greenock Juniors' pathway teams enjoyed another very satisfactory weekend with three quite resounding victories.

First up on the Friday were the Development team, who hosted Renfrew at the Battery park.

The boys made it three wins and one draw out of four games in the West of Scotland Football Development League Conference D with a comfortable 6-1 win over the visitors.

Scorers for the Nock were Michael McCauley, who netted a brace, Shaun-Paul Johnson, Jay Beckley, Cian Hughes and Craig Darroch. Player of the Match went to Jay Beckley.

The team play league leaders Yoker Athletic at Holm Park this coming Friday. Presently Yoker have 15 points from seven games, whilst Greenock have 10 points from four, so a win for Nock could be significant for the weeks ahead.

The 2007s consolidated their position at the top of their division with a 6-0 win over Bridge of Weir United.

From the pathway development perspective it is important to note that the boys are not just churning out results, they are playing some great football in the process.

Jamie Harrison netted a brace and the man of the match award, alongside Luke McKenzie, while Jay Dooley and Kian Lepick netted a goal apiece.

This weekend the boys are playing on Sunday away to Glasgow United in the second round of the Scottish Cup.

The 2008s just can’t stop scoring goals. They knocked in 11 while conceding only one in a fine win against Kilwinning Academy in the League Cup.

Liam McLaughlan netted an astonishing four times, coupled by a Jay Beckley brace. Alex McWatt netted a brace of his own to compliment strikes from Jaydan Dhother, Mikel Greene and Sam Keyes. Man of the Match was Liam McLaughlin.

This weekend the squad will look to make six wins from six in the league, away to Cambuslang Football Academy Blues.

The 2009s make a welcome return to action on Saturday with a home League Cup fixture against Bridge of Weir United.

After a few weeks of hard training the group are looking forward to the game.
