DETERMINED Morton captain Grant Gillespie has called on the Cappielow side to relish the challenge of trying to claim a scalp against top of the table Falkirk on Saturday.

The odds couldn't be stacked heavier against the Ton, who have lost their last two games and failed to score in the last three, while the Bairns are flying high at the head of the pack, four points clear of Livingston.

The Ton playmaker says that his side need to take heart from their previous game against John McGlynn's men - despite letting a two goal lead slip at Cappielow back in August.

He says that match proved that he and his teammates have what it takes to hurt the Bairns - and insists it should act as the perfect motivation ahead of what's expected to be a tough shift tomorrow.

He told the Tele: "We've got to relish the challenge of going to play Falkirk. We obviously had the 2-0 lead here when we played them down at Cappielow in August. We were playing really well up until that point.

"But they're a good team and they kept fighting. They got one back and then obviously went on to go and win the game.

"We know that we can hurt them, but we also know how much quality they've got in their group.

"They've started the season really well and have carried on their form from last season. We're under no illusions as to how tough it's going to be.

"They're flying high at the top of the table and we're decimated with injuries. It's going to be a tough shift, but it's one we're looking forward to.

"This is my third year here, and the injury toll just seems to get worse time after time. It's never just one, it always seems to be eight.

"It's not ideal but it gives other boys an opportunity to go and showcase what they can do.

"With Iain Wilson suspended it's not ideal but it gives other boys a chance to go and stake a claim."
