MORTON star Cameron Blues says his side need to show some character by bouncing back from Saturday's Falkirk horror show when Ayr come to Greenock on Friday.

The Ton midfielder says his side need to stick together and show that they can come out the other side of what is proving to be a real test of character as the Cappielow men struggle with injuries and loss of form.

But Blues says his side need to pick the bones of the defeat in a what will be a rather scathing post-mortem and stick together to make things right on Friday night when Scott Brown's Ayr United - who are also in the midst of a poor run after losing three of their last four league games - come to Cappielow in front of the BBC cameras.

He told the Tele: "That's what the frustrating thing was. We were looking to come out in the second half and stay in the game for as long as possible and try to feel our way back into the game.

"We conceded a penalty right from the start of the second half. I don't know if it was a penalty or not, it just looked like a shot was getting blocked, but the ref's given it.

"That's probably killed us, because if we'd have managed to stay in the game and then try to get the next goal, who knows what might've happened?

"Falkirk are a really good side. They've only lost once in, what, 49-50 games, and they've been together for a long time. We need to stick together as a group, come in at the start of the week, and try to keep our spirits high.

"There's always another game coming. We've got to firstly learn about it, move on from it and try to put it right.

"We want to put a run of results together to put us back up the league, but we'll pick the bones out it and go again."
