NATHAN SHAW says he wants to repay the patience shown in him by Morton ahead of an anticipated return to action against Ayr United tonight.
Earlier this week, the former Caley Thistle wide man revealed just how difficult it's been to miss the last eight months as he navigated his way back from a hamstring operation towards the end of last season.
He then suffered a nightmare set back in August just before looking like being ready to be nearing a return.
But the 24-year-old desperate to put a frustrating period behind him and repay the faith and patience that his new employers have put in him after sealing a return to action.
He told the Tele: "The whole period, even injuring my hamstring up at Inverness, hasn't been great.
"Just being injured in general is horrible, so when you weigh it in with the fact that there's been a few others as well joining me in the physio room, it's tough.
"It's frustrating because when you sign for a new club you want to be involved and making an impact right from the off.
"We're just trying to get back as quick as we can and offer as much support to the gaffer as possible.
"The whole scenario has been frustrating for everyone which is understandable.
"But everyone's been great with me to be fair. Everyone's had to be patient, because I'd suffered the set back.
"I'm hoping that I can repay them for that patience with performances on the pitch and produce when it matters.
"It'll be a bit of an achievement for me really, to get over the injury and to get back playing.
"That'll mean it'll take me a while to get back up to full match fitness - but I'm looking forward to getting back involved."
