MORTON'S Welsh wizard Jordan Davies hopes that he's beginning to turn a corner after getting the perfect birthday present in the form of setting up the winner in the Cappielow side's five-goal thriller against Raith.
The former Connah's Quay Nomads frontman has proven to be a livewire off the bench in his last two appearances, setting up Austin Samuels to net his maiden Ton strike against Livingston last week before teeing up Michael Garrity for the stoppage-time strike that broke Raith Rovers' hearts at Stark's Park on Saturday and earned Ton their first win in six attempts.
He admits that he breathed a sigh of relief after seeing Garrity's effort hit the back of the net and that it would've been a disaster had Ton thrown away a two goal lead for the second time this season.
He told the Tele: "The gaffer's always on at us about running channels. That's obviously my strength.
"So as I've got there I've looked up and put it into a dangerous area. He [Dougie Imrie] is also always wanting his wingers to come in the pitch and be in between the posts - so thankfully Michael was there at the right place in the right time.
"Personally it's been a good week for me. The gaffer always wants us to try and make an impact coming off the bench. That's two assists in two games for me now, which is nice.
"I'm hoping that I can turn a corner now. The gaffer picks the best team that he thinks can go and win the game, but I've been working hard to give him that thought, popping up with two assists.
"Every player wants to play, but the team have actually been doing really well. It's just that results haven't reflected that.

"It's always good to try and help the team, unfortunately against Livingston it didn't [change the outcome].
"Our standards weren't good enough both individually or collectively as a team, but we took that into the Raith game on Saturday.
"It'd have been a disaster had we have lost that game. We controlled it from minute one right the way through. We're delighted to have gotten a huge three points."
Davies says that the togetherness in the dressing room couldn't be stronger as the Cappielow men look to turn a corner after ending a run of six games without a victory in Fife.
And he insists that despite being pegged back by the Kirkcaldy outfit, there was always the belief that they'd get one more chance to make amends
He added: "In the changing room we all believe in each other. There's massive togetherness in the group.

"When Raith scored the second goal, it was obviously a bit of a downer. But we had that belief that we'd get another chance in the game; it was just up to us to go and take it.
"It's a huge win at the end of a difficult period for us. It's been a difficult run of games and they don't get any easier.
"The gaffer believes in us. He gives us a platform to go and play, and hopefully we can continue to deliver now."
