A GREENOCK-born peer is reportedly a leading candidate in the race to become the next chairman of Rangers.
The Scottish Sun reports Lord Malcolm Offord is in contention to replace John Bennett in the top role at Ibrox.
Offord is a member of the House of Lords and has a background in politics and business.

Born in Greenock, the Conservative Party donor has reportedly been targeted for the Rangers chairman position.
The 60-year-old who was handed a life peerage by Boris Johnson in 2021 and is a former Ardgowan Primary and Greenock Academy pupil.
It's claimed Offord has already been involved at Rangers in discussions with possible replacements for James Bisgrove in the chief executive post.
John Gilligan is currently in post as interim chairman after John Bennett had to step down over health matters.
