MORTON boss Dougie Imrie insists his side's win over Raith Rovers showed the levels of commitment they have for the cause as they stopped the rot of six games without a win.
Ton may have missed out on the chance to build some momentum from the game following on from last weekend's postponement of the Partick Thistle game - but Imrie will still take positives from the game almost a fortnight ago into this weekend's contest.
And he praised his side's faultless attitude and the way they conducted themselves during a difficult period to produce what he hopes is a turning point of their season.
He told the Tele: "Yeah I think there were shades of that Dundee United game from last season in the game against Raith Rovers.
"Naturally the late goal and the score line will help you come to that conclusion, but it shows that the character of the group has stayed the same despite all of the changes in the summer.
"But I can't ever fault my players level of commitment nor their level of endeavour towards this football club.
"Whether they're winning or losing they're always at it. They've been great since coming in at the start of the season and they keep on pushing to improve themselves every week. That's all we can keep on asking of them as a manager.
"When we got pegged back to two each against Raith Rovers it could easily have gone the other way and they could've folded and lost the game.
"Instead they've took a breath, re-energised themselves and gone again and got the eventual winner.
"The fight in the group is still there, they're fighting for that badge and when you're on the hunt for three points every week that's all you can ask for."
