DEFIANT Morton goalkeeper Ryan Mullen says his side need to trust the process despite being dumped out of the Scottish Cup by Ayr United.
The former Celtic kid believes the Cappielow men showed glimpses of what they can do in the first half against Scott Brown's side, before a second half collapse saw them fall to a 2-0 defeat at Somerset Park.
He claims that if Ton had taken their chances it would've been a different story and says he has full belief that the Cappielow outfit can get the reward they're chasing under Imrie.

He told the Tele: "The first half showed what we can do, we just need to trust it. In the second half the boys were maybe a bit fatigued, that does factor in.
"We've now got nearly a full squad back so we've got options that can come on and impact a game.
"Although I think if we take our chances in the first half then it would be completely different. We're coming away saying look at some of the stuff we played at a difficult venue.
"But that final touch just wasn't there for us in the end and ultimately we cut open when it mattered most.
"If you're wanting to go and change the way you're playing, you need to sometimes try and adjust when you're under a bit of pressure like we were.
"At times it was going long, but at times it's also hard to do that because we know we've not got a George Oakley up there for instance, who can go and win those flick-ons.
"I do though think that the boys are more than capable of performing and playing out under pressure. There were times in that second half where we got away with it and got through Ayr's press.
"Yes, there were other times where there were mistakes but that'll happen when you play in that particular way. It's a bit of a risk but there is a massive reward at the end of it.
"We just never took our chances to ensure that we got our reward."
Mullen says his side will treat the result in isolation moving forward with their attention quickly turning to their Championship clash against Livingston at Cappielow this weekend.
And he says they'll take confidence from picking up four points out of the last six available in the league as they look to continue to move up the table.
He added: "We need to try and remember that it's a cup fixture, a one-off game, and we move on from it.
"We've had two good results in the league - and again we've had a lot of injuries.
"We've been very depleted, so it is hard to keep on getting back on the horse and going again after that.
"But I don't think a defeat away at Ayr will knock us too much.
"We've got Livi next up who we're fully focusing our attention on now."
